Book 1: Mechaniek: Lost Paradise
In a distant future, in a world ravaged by a toxic war, mechanics are now the ruling class. Taliesin is a peaceful fisherman on the isle of Ethia, bearing only a large scar on his forearm from the toxic rains that ravage the planet.
One day, he is caught up in a toxic storm and saved by the renegade mechanic Merrick. They fall in love and find a tropical paradise they name “Paradise Island”. Merrick then brings Taliesin back to Ethia, promising to return after fixing his mechanical sailboat. If they were to be separated, they vow to meet again on “Paradise Island”, but Merrick never returns.
After hearing that Merrick may have been arrested for piracy, Taliesin attempts to board a mechanical galleon to the city and a mysterious man offers him to play the role of the lost prince and pretend to marry his own son in exchange for Merrick’s freedom. Little does Taliesin know that memories will resurface, confirming he was actually the lost prince, the son of the man who ordered the kidnapping of Merrick as a child and the murder of his mother…

Power has changed hands in after the assassination of King Viryankar and the arrest of

Arnau Donovan transfers to the Royal School of Mechanics from a remote region at the age of

former rival have such a genius by his side...

In Toweren, Arnau and Goram have adopted a son, Ari, who lacks the talent for mechanics that would ensure him a future. One night, they are invited to a party at the Yamato-koku ambassador’s home where he meets Masaru, a talented mechanical drummer and playboy, and befriends Princess Aimee Denisov. Disappointed with his life and his relationship failures, Ari doubts himself; more so when he discovers that his biological father died in the experiments carried out by his adoptive father Arnau. Furious, he leaves Toweren with the Yamato-koku ambassador to become his son Masaru’s tutor and at first finds it difficult to get along with this spoiled young man he shared a kiss with, but soon a bond beyond words grows between them.
Meanwhile, in Toweren, Aimee starts dating the son of Royman Lombardi, a religious conservative and monarchist. Seduced at first by their promises, she then becomes friends with her political enemy, Alistair McVaughan, and when the Lombardis turn against her, he is the one who comes to her rescue. But Lombardi’s ambitions extend beyond the he has secretly kidnapped the four Devarkan children after they awakened and plans to use them to restore the divine right of kings in Toweren...
